Boys & Girls Club Poker Night

The Boys & Girls Club of Vista (BGCV) recently hosted its first Texas Hold ‘Em Poker Tournament at its club in order to raise funds for its programs. With the help of more than 50 guests, BGCV raised over $11,000 in support of its tutoring programs, music and dance lessons, fitness classes, STEAM education, and more. While members pay $50 yearly to join, the actual cost is $577 per child, so the funds raised at the tournament will help fill the gap to fully maintain the programs, according to CEO of BGCV Matt Koumaras.

“Our first annual poker tournament was a great success. Our guests had a fantastic time!”

The poker tournament was a step outside the norm for BGCV, which usually hosts galas for fundraising events. The tournament was an opportunity for guests to have fun, win prizes, and support BGCV. “Our first annual poker tournament was a great success. Our guests had a fantastic time!” said Event Chairman and Board Member Danny Pencak. The top three winners of the night were Darren Hardesy, Brendan Pagan, and Charissa Gonzales.
