Girl Scout Troop 4371 recently presented The Woman’s Club of Vista (WCV) a check for $800 at the club’s monthly meeting. The donations collected will go to Heifer International, a global nonprofit focused on eliminating hunger and poverty, to buy seven goats. The WCV has been a long-time supporter of Heifer International.

These goats will go to a family in a developing country, who will use them for milk, wool, muscle to raise crops, and profit from selling the products. The family will then donate the first female goat to another family, repeating the process.

The Girl Scouts explained that they made soap and candles from goat’s milk, packaged them in a small bucket with a washcloth, and sold them to raise donations. During the recent General Federation of Women’s Clubs’ Convention, the WCV President Judy Pantazo received the Heifer Hope award for supporting Heifer International. To learn more about the WCV visit
