If there’s one thing that North County residents enjoy more than the beach, it’s the various cuisine, beverages, and sweet treats throughout San Diego. Here, we offer a taste of some local flavor.

New to Town

The popular Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers is set to open at Vista Village this spring. The Texas-based restaurant will serve its famous chicken fingers and will also include a drive-thru. Another new restaurant coming soon to downtown Vista is DogHaus. The famous hot dog eatery will feature a beer garden with more than 20 beers on tap.

Street Food

For the past several years, food trucks seem to have taken over the culinary scene in cities around the world. This modern dining option offers quick, gourmet food – anytime, anywhere. Mobile cuisine encompasses everything from burgers and tacos to grilled cheese sandwiches and international fusions – each with their own unique twist. One frequent visitor to the Vista Farmers Market includes the Amo Nakatl truck, meaning “no meat” in the ancient Mexican dialect of Nahuatl, and specializes in vegan Mexican food.
