Solutions for Change, a local nonprofit dedicated to solving family homelessness in San Diego, recently received a $10,000 grant from the Del Mar-Solana Beach Rotary Club. The grant will help fund a refrigerator truck to ensure proper delivery of lettuce grown at Solutions for Change’s aquaponics farm to local schools. “By investing $10,000 into a refrigerated truck, Del Mar-Solana Beach Rotary not only equips us to deliver the freshest organic food to thousands of local school kids and be more sustainable,” said Solutions for Change CEO Chris Megison, “they’re now part of delivering permanent solutions for homeless families in world class innovation right here in their backyard.”

Solutions for Change’s farm provides both work-related training and employment as well as additional funding for the organization’s education and housing programs.
