Local children’s charity, Passion 4 K.I.D.S recently surprised a Vista single mom and her teenage daughter with a car.
Terri Lynn Torres, mother of 14-year-old Micah, has spent the last 18 years fighting a brain tumor that, in the last few months, has dramatically increased in size, causing debilitating headaches. When their car was stolen, Terri and Micah were left without transportation or a way to get to school and the many doctors’ appointments Terri has each week. Passion 4 K.I.D.S founders Charles and Linda Van Kessler heard of their need and stepped in to help. They shared, “We were honored to play a small part in restoring some joy to this struggling teen and her mom by providing them with a car.” Passion 4 K.I.D.S. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dealing with handicapped, neglected, abandoned, abused, and underprivileged children of any race, color, and creed as well as children in acute, life-threatening, emergency situations in the United States.
